Accurate reading of local solar time
Study the shadow more closely and establish the indicated time to the nearest minute. In this case, the shadow can be seen to fall exactly on 2.15pm. This is local solar time. The sundials design is such that this allows for variations due to Latitude and Longitude but not for those attributed to The Equation of Time.
